Season of Thankfulness Series: Katelyn
Where the Wind Blows
I often get caught up in comparing my journey to others. Throughout my life, I've felt like I never had a clear "path". I never felt like I aligned with the typical societal norms that were taught to me. I didn't have a dream career to work towards. I didn't want to start a family. I simply didn't know what I wanted. This often manifests as feeling as though I wasn't meeting expectations. I wanted to desire security, I wanted to have those big dreams that everyone around me had but that just didn't feel authentic to my experiences. Instead, I have just gone wherever the wind has blown. I've fully leaned into my lack of "traditional" goals and let the wind push me to accomplish my own goal: living my life to the fullest capacity that I can. I've moved states, traveled the country, lived in Yosemite National Park, spent an entire winter in Baja, worked in music venues, and have been able to step back and enjoy every one of these experiences.
I guess what I'm thankful for is the change in my life. I've been able to look back and see that each time I have embraced the changing winds of my life, I've grown and become better for it. Now let me be clear, sometimes these changes were hard, or scary, or left me asking "why me?" but had it not been for my past self embracing these changes, I wouldn't be where I am today. I wouldn't be living a life that fulfills me at the deepest levels. I'm able to travel to places I've always dreamed of traveling to, I have a support system that I never imagined having, and even when life feels difficult I am able to find the joy in my everyday experiences. For the changes in my life, I am grateful and I hope that you can embrace the power of change in your life as well!
Katelyn is Here to Walk With You
Do you feel stuck in old patterns or like you're struggling to navigate big life changes? Maybe you’re dealing with trauma or anxiety. Or maybe you feel disconnected from the life you want to lead. If you want to feel more present, intentional, and in tune with who you are, I’m here to let you know that healing is possible. Your past doesn’t have to define your future.
Hi, I’m Katelyn Bellings, a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri State University. I believe that therapy is a partnership, and together we will work to understand your story, honor your strengths, and create a pathway to healing that feels right for you. Whether you’re processing trauma or striving to live more intentionally, I’ll walk with you every step of the way, providing support and insight tailored to your needs.
Using an eclectic approach that blends a variety of approaches (including EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, and somatic practices), I specialize in helping adults navigate life transitions, trauma, and anxiety. As someone who lives a non-traditional, nomadic lifestyle and identifies as queer, I welcome clients who are exploring non-traditional ways of living and being.
Our work together is about more than just addressing problems—it’s about empowering you to reclaim your story and move forward with clarity and confidence. I offer Telehealth services for adults (ages 18+) in Missouri, so you can embrace this journey from the comfort of your own space.
